Installation of Bamboo Flooring
Horizontal grain is flat-pressed style, bamboo strips are placed into three layers on top of one another, horizontal displays the natural nodes or knuckles of the bamboo. These nodes are randomly visible on the surface, adding to the natural beauty of the floor. Horizontal features more of the unique properties of the bamboo grass, with more visible nodes (the characteristic joint in the bamboo cane).
Carbonized bamboo is darker amber and heat–treated color, is created when bamboo goes through its heating and pressurizing processes. During this process, the sugar content in the fibers darken from their natural shades to achieve a darker, coffee-colored tone.

Manufacturing Process
Step 1
After harvesting, bamboo is cut into strips. These strips are boiled in a water and boric acid solution. This removes sugars from the stalks which is necessary because sugars attract termites. This boiling process also stops the growth of fungus and mold. Any insects in the bamboo will also be removed.
Step 3
All bamboo strips will be dried in the dry kiln to make the moisture content to be less than 10%. Lower moisture on bamboo strips, higher stability on bamboo flooring.
Step 5
This plank is then milled in a computerized mill that accurately cuts each board. After the boards are milled, they are sanded and coated with aluminum oxide finish.
Step 2
The process of steaming bamboo material under a controlled pressure and temperature is called carbonization, in which bio-organisms and sugar breaks down, and the color of the material darkens.
Step 4
A stringent selection process ensures only premium strips will be used for bamboo flooring. Selected strips are stacked in layers and glued with an environmentally safe adhesive prior to being put through a 1250 ton press to form planks.

Ten stage Klumpp coating system with ‘Anti-Scratch’ finish utilizing the latest scratch resistant technology combined with an advanced co-polymer primer for optimum finish adhesion. (5H scratch resistant, 5B cross hatch adhesion).
Tough & Durable
Bamboo looks like wood, feels like wood, and cuts like wood. It even smells like wood. Horizontal bamboo and vertical bamboo have Janka rating of 7.5, oak has Janka rating of 5.5, Ipe has Janka rating of 16.2.
